The information you provide to us during your use of www.myvolunteerplace.org (the “Website”) is protected by us. By using this website, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with the terms of this privacy policy.


Personal Information We Collect
Participation in the Website online activities requires that all users register and create a free student or organization user account. Please note: we do not require disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary in order for users to use any function on the Website. There are several areas on our Website where we request information from you. If you register to use any limited access portion of the Website, we use the information you provide to deliver the services that you request. We will only collect your personal information, including name, address, email address and other demographic details when you provide it to us, and it will only be used for the purposes for which you provide it (for example volunteer opportunities). If you are a registered user your information will be stored in the “user account” section which can be viewed by you after you log-in.  In the event that you choose to participate in the community volunteer network provided on the website, you acknowledge that this information is sent to us voluntarily.

Collection of your information is as follows:
•             Your contact information (including without limitation, name, address, email address and demographic information) is collected when you register to use the Website, complete on-line profiles, and when you sign up to participate in volunteer activities;
•             Certain personally identifiable information is requested when you make a purchase through our Website and review certain content;
•             When you make comments, when you participate in the community volunteer network, blogs, videos, photos, and shared stories certain personally identifiable information will be collected;
•             When students use the interactive volunteer map function, personally identifiable information (e.g. name and demographic information) will be collected;
•             We may collect information, such as your name and e-mail address whenever you submit a question or suggestion to us or request assistance from us.

Use of Your Information
Except as explained in this privacy policy, the information that you provide to us through the Website will not be sold, shared, or rented to any outside organization for its use in marketing or solicitation. We may share aggregated customer information such as statistics about our customers, traffic patterns and related site information, but such aggregated information will not contain any personally identifying information of any users of the Website. Additionally, we may disclose or access your account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

Protection of Student's Information
Only student's who have reached the age of 14 to 25 are permitted access to registering on this website as a student. It is our intention to make this Website a safe environment on the Internet for students, youth, and adults to explore volunteering and community service. 

Documenting Volunteer Hours                                                                         By agreeing to these terms and using the MVP website, you are agreeing to the correct documentation of any volunteer hours fulfilled and approved by the MVP system. All volunteer hours documents by the user, regardless of registration through the MVP system or previously fulfilled volunteer hours that have not been registered through the MVP system, are true and correct and have not been falsified in any way. These conditions are necessary to protect the integrity of the MVP Volunteer Transcript and any member of MVP that is deemed to have falsified these documented hours will be immediately blocked from using this website and further action may be necessary. 

Your Right to Opt Out
Any information that the Institute collects from you on the Website is information that you specifically and voluntarily provide. You may choose not to provide any or all of the information that is requested on the Website. By so choosing, however, you may limit your ability to receive some or all of the services generally offered to users of the Website.
